Zero Balancing is a mind-body approach that I use in my massage practice. It was created by Fritz Smith, M.D. as a way to treat issues related to the body's energy and structure.
“ZB is a healing system whose principles work in harmony with the natural world, sharing much in common with meditation, yoga, qigong, tai chi, and other eastern practices which promote deep relaxation of the body and mind. During a session, you may feel a stillness of body and mind greater than you’ve ever experienced. Following a session when you stand up and walk, you may feel both grounded and effortlessly uplifted, yet stable and supported by the earth, your muscles at ease, feeling open, relaxed, and alive. A ZB session usually lasts 45-60 minutes and is safe for any group. During the session, you lie supine on a massage table fully dressed in loose, comfortable clothing. Then your entire body is engaged by placing gentle pressure or traction into key joints and locations.” (From www.zerobalancing.com)
I’ve found ZB so rejuvenating and life-changing I’m inspired to share this modality in my practice.
